PSP Resin Container (VAT)
Soft silicone resin container (vat):
The adhesion between the silicone and Teflon film is much stronger than the hard silicone resin container.
Pros: The separation force is much lower. The surface quality is better.
Cons: The Teflon film tends to have more warpage for larger prints.
This vat is not suitable for prints demanding flat surfaces. This vat is recommended for beginners or those who print small high resolution jewelry and miniatures.
Hard silicone resin container (vat):
The adhesion between the silicone and Teflon film is weaker than the soft silicone resin container.
Pros: The Teflon film tends to have less warpage.
Cons: The chance that the Teflon film is lifted off is higher. The separation force is higher so users must print at a lower lifting speed.
This vat is recommended for prints demanding flat surfaces.
In general, the lifetime of the film depends on the separation force.
The easiest way to reduce the separation force is to reduce lifting speed.
What is passive self-peeling (PSP) technology?
Passive self-peeling (PSP) technology is a patented (US patent number 9,452,567), bottom-up, SLA technology, which was created by Kudo3D to minimize the separation force between the cured layers and the resin container. PSP employs a flexible resin container consisting of 5 different materials, which work together to aid in reducing the separation force. The lifetime of the container is greatly increased and no longer limited to the haziness of silicone. It ensures that feature as fine as a strand of hair and larger objects, up to 10 inches tall, can be printed with the same machine while maintaining staggering high resolution and impressive speeds. Equipped with PSP, the printer only needs one single stepping motor. The structure of Titan 1, Titan 2, and Titan 2 HR is simplified and they are more reliable and easy to maintain.
